Frank Harrison Memorial Race 25 & 26th February 2012
Kick off your 2012 marathon season with a race on the Mighty Murray.
This interesting and very scenic point to point race follows the Murray River from the Hume Weir down to the Mitta Mitta Canoe Club (MMCC) located in Noreuil park South Albury. This must attend, well run race is a highlight on the Marathon racing calender.
Participation is highly reccommended and well worth an overnight trip.
There's a choice of 26km and 16km distances.
The longer option commences just below the Hume Weir wall, while the 16km course starts at the Waterworks Bridge near the Albury airport.
Expect current, a few fast stretches of river and challenging bends.
If bends are not taken wide enough you may end up on a bed of pebbles (my boat has the scars to prove it).
Spend some time at the clubhouse at the end of racing for BBQ and refreshments both days and a chance to win one of many spot drawn prizes.
Senior Singles and Junior doubles races will be held on Saturday afternoon.
Senior Doubles and junior singles on the Sunday morning.

Albury is a little more than 3.5 hours travel time from Melbourne.
Saturday briefing at Hume Weir starts at 3.30pm, and at the Waterworks start at 4.30pm.
All participating FCC Members should add their details to the FCC whiteboard in the clubhouse as soon as possible to confirm a place for their boat(s) on the trailer.
NOTE:
Club boats cannot be taken to this race, so if you need a loaner add these details to the whiteboard.
FCC Members should note that Boat loading onto the club trailer is be completed by 10am Saturday (25th Feb).
You will need to bring your own tie-down straps as most of the club ones have disappeared !
