Despite challenging conditions Fairfield Canoe Club were victorious at the first Winter Series race on the weekend.
The race was held on the Hopkins River, a wide expanse of open water ravaged by onshore winds.
Overall we had almost 30 paddlers competing.
Fairfield members performed fantasically with many place getters including four awarded first place.
