The 2005 Big Bash Fairfield Canoe Club Awards Evening

This year's "Big Bash" was held at the Abruzzo Club on Saturday 1st October 2005. The evening was organised by the social Committee in conjunction with the Race Organising and Skills development committee. Special thanks to Ivan Gaal, Michael Loftus-Hills and Roger Tralaggan for the audio visual and photographs and Jonathon Mayne for his top performance as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening, Gary Flanigan for his continued support in making every social function a success, Robyn Ward and Racheal Heath for making the function room look spectacular.
Congratulations to Julie Perriam on winning the two main awards on the evening - the Szigetti medal and the President's award. Congratulations to Tom Darlington-Bortoli on winning the Coach's award and Connie Todaro who took out the "Under the Yarra" award.

The fourth annual 'Big Bash' was held at the Abruzzo Club on Saturday 2nd October
The Race Organising and Skills development and Social committee organised another great event.
FCC members enjoyed great food, music and a short documentary on Zoli Szigeti in honour of the
presentation of the first Szigeti medal.

The third annual Big Bash was held at the Collingwood Football Club on
Saturday 8 November. The Social committee organised another great event. FCC members enjoyed great
food, music and a video presentation that showed highlights of the year.

The Big Bash - 2002 Fairfield Canoe Club Awards Evening
The 2002 Big Bash was again held at the Collingwood Football Club on
Saturday 19 October.
The Social Club Committee outdid themselves with the decorations creating a water theme
of dolphin and other water creature balloons floating above the crowd, and
other balloons and streamers in club colours of light and dark blue.
Members also outdid themselves as they dressed to impress, enjoyed the selection of
food and boogied the night away with the DJ.
Julie Perriam took out two awards for an excellent year of paddling and Werner
Bolz was a very popular 'Under the Yarra' award winner.

The Big Bash - 2001 Fairfield Canoe Club Awards Evening
Held on Saturday 27 October at the Collingwood Football Club, the 2001 Big Bash
was a night of splendour, elegance and rivalry.
Old and new members mixed it together enjoying the pre-dinner champagne,
food and dancing. Many companies donated goods to help raise over $1300 for the club via
raffles held on the night.
The awards were almost a clean sweep by Rose Curtis who took out three of the five.
Mick Gayfer who only took up paddling a year ago was given the coach's award by
Zoli Stegeti.

The Inaugral FCC Annual Awards aka The Big Bash - 2000
The Big Bash Awards night was held at the Collingwood Football Club rooms
on 21 Oct 2000 after much anticipated excitement and planning by the FCC Social
Committee.
With 115 people, the night was a huge success as everyone enjoyed the excellent food,
dancing, awards presentation and raffles.
The following awards were presented for paddling prowess and contributions to FCC.
